Professor of SFedU Department of Archeology and History of the Ancient World Kiyashko in collaboration with the famous Rostov archaeologist Guguev during the summer field season carries out excavations of two barrows 5 km north of the city of Novocherkassk.

The group under the guidance of prof. Kiyashko includes 12 trainees (bachelors and masters) from the Institute of History and International Relations of Southern Federal University since mid-July is currently conducting a study of the largest mound object - the burial mound of Vesely I.

Already the first results of excavation of the burial mound Vesyly I speak of the unique nature of this object of cultural heritage, especially in the presence of a central stone ring structure that has not yet been studied in the mound and more than a dozen burials of the Early Bronze Age of the Lower Don. In these tombs an expressive series of ceramics from 8 stucco clay vessels were met.

The practice of students of the Institute of History and International Relations on the barrow was excellent. Theoretical and practical exercises were held: lectures on the peculiarities of the funeral rite of the Bronze Age, training skills of stripping the bows, clearing the burials. All students successfully mastered the primary skills of desk processing of materials, as well as the basics of computer processing of field drawings.
