SFedU research laboratory for biosphere monitoring and the Department of Soil Science and Land Resources Assessment together with the RAS Center conduct systematic studies on the effect on soil and plants of various anthropogenic factors. The composition of soils and the state of plants near some of the industrial waste tanks in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky (Rostov Region) were studied. Ecological and geochemical assessment of soil contamination with zinc, cadmium, copper and other heavy metals at monitoring sites was carried out. The effect of soil pollution on the growth and development processes of plants was identified using modern physical and chemical methods and unique equipment.
