SFedU researchers working on DESY synchrotron facility

01.06.2018

SFedU researchers and master students from the iinternational research center Smart Materials carried out the experiments on PETRA III electronic synchrotron facility in Hamburg.

A group of researchers from SFedU international research сentre Smart Materials held an experiment using the PETRA III large-scale electronic synchrotron facility on May 17-22. Among the participants were the leading researcher Alexandr Guda, junior researcher Aram Bugaev, master students Oleg Usoltsev and Alina Skorynina.

The aim of the experiment was to determine atomic and electronic structure of palladium nanoparticles which could be used in  filtering car exhausts.

PETRA III is situated on the territory of DESY R&D Centre (Hamburg, Germany), which is the largest synchrotron facility in the world with the radius of 2,3 km mostly plaed underground.
